San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals invites you to our next installment of Craft & Conversation, where we will focus on hiring practices within museums.

Come "wine down" with us at Negociant Winery as we discuss advocating for yourself, best practices and the ways in which the museum hiring process is evolving.

Cris Scorza, Director of Education and Engagement at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego will be facilitating.

About Cris Scorza


Cris Scorza is MCASD’s Education and Engagement Director. During her tenure, Scorza has overseen the development of an inclusive education platform that increases the level of visitor engagement with the arts and broadens its relevance to diverse audiences. These programs include collaborations with artists and arts organizations in the U.S./Mexico border region, school programs that empower teachers to integrate the arts across academic disciplines, leadership development for teens, and cutting-edge work with combat troops recovering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Prior to joining MCASD, Scorza worked for and collaborated with institutions such as the New Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Arts and Design, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and Art in General in New York.

Scorza has a BFA from the National School of Visual Arts in Mexico, a BA in Arts Administration and Art History from Baruch College, CUNY and a Masters in Leadership in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education.

San Diego EMP welcomes members from all fields and is primarily composed of employees, volunteers, and students in their first ten years of a museum-related career.
